Lancaster art fair 2025

Moving into our third year 2025 promises to be the most exciting yet!

We are coming to the streets of Lancaster with a programme of events including: a massive exhibition celebrating art in Lancaster, free creative activities and workshops, makers markets, arts showcases, professional development talks and paid opportunities for Local Artists!

LAF2025 will run between 19th – 24rd August across: The Storey, Lancaster Library, St Nics Arcade, Market Square, The Gregson, Assembly Arts, The Quarterhouse and Pizza Margherita

Venue Guide

1 – The Storey (Storey Gallery, Music Room and Thomas Storey Gallery) – Exhibition Space and Free creative workshops and activities 19-23rd August 10-5pm
2 – Lancaster Library – Free creative workshops 22nd and 23rd August 12-4pm
3 – Market Square – Arts Organisation showcases 22nd and 23rd August 11-4pm
5 – St Nicholas Arcade – Makers Markets 22nd and 23rd August 10-4pm
6-The Gregson Centre – Makers Market 24th August 11-4pm
7-The Quarterhouse – Exhibition Space and Closing Party 19th – 24th August During restaurant opening hours
8-Pizza Margherita – Exhibition Space and Talks Venue 19th-24th August During restaurant opening hours

Makers Markets:

We have two makers markets running over the course of the event, find brilliant crafters, traders and artists bringing hand made products including: Jewellery, Homewares, Affordable Art plus much more

Sat 23rd – St Nicholas Arcade 11-4pm
Sun 24th – The Gregson Centre 11-4pm

Arts Organisation Showcase:

We are excited to host some of our partner organisations in Market Square to show you what arts opportunities are available throughtout the year in our area. If you enjoy our workshops and would like to get involved in our fantastic community of local artists then head down and see what we have to offer! 11-4PM

Friday 22nd – Escape to Make, Assembly Arts, Ironpress, Proper Lovely, Luneside Studios, Good Things Collective.

Saturday 23rd- Assembly Arts, Ironpress, Good Things Collective

Professional development talks (Book in advance):

Presenting a series of talks aimed at local artists or those interested in working within the arts. Find out about other artists journeys and how they run their creative practice! All talks are free but as we have limited capacity a ticket will be required from eventbrite.

Opening Night Party:

Join us for our opening night celebration in the main exhibition space at The Storey. Meet exhibiting artists and mingle with the local community! 6-8.30pm Storey Gallery and Music Room.

Moor Lane Sunday:

On Sunday we are focusing on our exhibiting artists at our satellite exhibitions at The Quarterhouse and Pizza Margherita, there will be free activities in the afternoon at Pizza Margherita and The Quarterhouse will be hosting our closing night wind down event. We will also be running our Sunday Makers Market at The Gregson between 11-4pm with an exciting selection of local makers and artists.

About the team:

Lancaster Art Fair CIC was founded by Hannah Corbett and our team consists of Lidia Ranns, Julie Evans, Rebecca Willmott and Amy Gunawan. We are all freelance artists local to Lancaster passionate about improving accessisbility to the arts in our area. We believe that Art is for Everyone and have been working hard to bring this new event to the local community!

Accessibility

Lancaster Art Fair is working with multiple venues over the event week. This presents some challenges and although we strive to work towards an accessible programme of events , not all venues are equally accessible to our whole audience at present.
