Lancaster Art Fair 2026 – Open Call
We have three separate ways to exhibit with us in 2026, please read all the way to the end of the article to understand what we have available and which application would best suit your work!
Lancaster Art Fair will host our main exhibition in the Storey Gallery from the 22nd -29th of August. We will host up to 18 artists in this space and each will have 3 meter wall space and areas for prints (ceramics applications will not have wall space but will have cabinet and tabletop space instead). These spaces are fee paying at £100 per space.
On Saturday 29th August we will be running a Makers Market between 11am-4pm in the Music Room which is adjacent to the main gallery space in the Storey, the doors will be open through both spaces and connected by double doors. 6 foot table top spaces for the Makers Market are charged at £40 per space, limited tables are available on request.
We will also have limited space for 3 emerging artists to show at the Gregson centre during August, these spaces are not charged.
Read below for how to apply and deadlines for each application process, please state clearly in your application which part of the event you are applying for!
Storey Gallery Application: – Deadline for Entries June 8th
-Fee £100 for 3 meter wall space/cabinet space for ceramics and table/browser space for prints, cards etc.
-17.5% commission on works sold
– Please be aware this is an all ages event and content must be suitable to be viewed by young children.
-This fair will be staffed so you will not be required to be present during the show run. Anyone interested in volunteering as general event staff please let us know!
Step One: Please provide the following information in an email to info@lancasterartfair.co.uk :
– Artist bio – A short piece of information about yourself/your work.
– Sample pictures of your art x5 and a link to your art social media/website. Please make sure these are images of the style of art you wish to show during the exhibition. If you want to show work of varying styles, this is fine, please let us know in your application.
Step Two: Artist selection and confirmation – Selection to take place by June 10th.
-Once selected please confirm and pay fee by June13th to reserve your space.
Logistics:
– Dates 22nd – 29th August.
– Open daily 10-5pm Saturday – Saturday. CLOSED SUNDAY 23RD. Opening night Saturday 22nd.
– Hanging Friday 21st 9-3pm, takedown and collection Sat 29th 5-6pm.
– Artists must be able to drop off, pick up and hang your works.
– All artworks must be ready to hang
– All relevant info i.e. title, description, price must be emailed along with the list of works you will hang a week prior to opening, you must print artwork information tags and attach to foam boards to display alongside your work (please ask if you require advice on this).
– Any prints must be properly packaged and priced for sale including artists name.
Makers Market Applications: Deadline June 5th
Step One: Please provide the following information in an email to info@lancasterartfair.co.uk :
– Artist bio – A short piece of information about yourself/your work.
– Sample pictures of your art x5 and a link to your art social media/website. Please make sure these are images of the style of art you wish to show during the exhibition. If you want to show work of varying styles, this is fine, please let us know in your application.
-Let us know if your require a table, these are limited so if you can bring your own please state in your application.
Step Two: Artist selection and confirmation – Selection to take place as and when we receive application, appy promptly to ensure a space!
-Once selected please confirm and pay £40 fee to reserve your space.
Logistics:
Event will run August 29th in the Music Room adjacent to the Storey Gallery and connected by double doors to the gallery space.
Open to the public between 11am-4pm
Set up from 9.30am
Closedown and exit building by 6pm
No commission taken on sales, LAF will not be responsible for processing sales, this is the sellers responsibility.
Gregson Centre Emerging Artists Spaces: Deadline June 8th
These spaces are reserved for artists on a limited budget or those who are just starting out in their practice, the space is free to exhibit and will run throughout the entirety of August.
To apply for these spaces please follow these steps:
Step One: Please provide the following information in an email to info@lancasterartfair.co.uk :
– Artist bio – A short piece of information about yourself/your work.
– Sample pictures of your art x5 and a link to your art social media/website. Please make sure these are images of the style of art you wish to show during the exhibition. If you want to show work of varying styles, this is fine, please let us know in your application.
-A short paragraph explaining why you think you are a good candidate for an emerging artist space and a little information about your art and practice up until this point.
Step Two: Artist selection and confirmation – Selection to take place by June 10th
Terms
All work must be original and by the maker/group members.
Lancaster Art Fair Fair nor the Storey cannot be held responsible for any loss/or damage to any property or stock of those exhibiting at the fair. Artists must provide evidence of their own public liability insurance – a copy of should be available on request.
You can get insurance as part of a membership to a-n The Artists Information Company (see https://www.a-n.co.uk/about/insurance/). Artists are liable for all claims arising from their goods and services.
Artists must also agree to follow and meet all health and safety requirements.
Pitch fees are non-refundable (this is due to short time frame in which we have to work). Any artists who cancel cannot pass their space onto a third party. – Unless in case of the events cancellation due to unforseen circumstances.
Lancaster Art Fair Fair reserves the right to request the removal of any content or stall, stall furniture that can deemed offensive, inappropriate or dangerous.
Alternative Application: If you would like to apply in a different format such as video or audio recordings of your workshop outlines then please get in touch! We are happy to accept alternative forms of applications.
